So How Can You Be a Child Advocate?
1. Be better informed about juvenile justice issues.
2. View the world through the eyes of a child.
3. Speak up. Support the Legislative Agenda of the Covenant
with NC's Children and become a Cyberlobbyist.
4. Get involved with child serving groups and support
community based juvenile justice programs.
5. Write, call or visit local or state elected officials about a
specific action you want them to take to help children.
6. Elect politicians whose actions will better children's lives.
7. Celebrate the positive things children do and reinforce
their good behavior.
8. Encourage your workplace, neighborhood groups, and
faith community to improve the well-being of children.
9. Organize a screening of Choices and Change and invite a
juvenile justice expert to speak to the group.
10. Become a mentor, tutor and advocate for a child.
